Inside Fox News’ Peter Doocy’s and Hillary Vaughn small wedding that had only 18 people

On February 1, 2023, Fox News hosts Peter Doocy, 35, and Hillary Vaughn, 32, welcomed their daughter, Bridget Blake Doocy, into the world, ushering in a happy new era in their lives.

In April 2021, Fox Business Network broadcaster Hillary Vaughn and White House correspondent Peter Doocy were married in a private ceremony in South Carolina.

Due to financial difficulties, only 18 people attended the wedding; this decision was influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic. According to Steve Doocy, co-host of Fox & Friends and Peter’s father, the couple had originally intended to get married in January 2021.

In addition to calling the ceremony “beautiful,” he said he had the privilege of serving as his son’s best man and gave a special speech at the occasion.

According to Steve Doocy, the Doocys have a family custom of writing poems for important occasions.

He remarked, “I was good until the next to last line,” in reference to his son Peter’s wedding. Reading the poem brought back poignant memories of Peter’s early years, causing him to pause for a moment.

Steve remarked, “The weather was perfect,” as he reflected on the day and characterized the mood. The cuisine was excellent. It was very beautiful.

A montage of wedding photos gave Fox News viewers a peek into Peter Doocy and Hillary Vaughn’s memorable day. Hillary dazzled in a flowing white gown, and Peter looked dapper in a traditional tuxedo.

The couple was seen cutting their exquisite, multi-tiered wedding cake together in the endearing pictures. Hillary’s pregnancy was made public in September, more than a year later.

Before the wedding, Bridget was born, making the couple first-time parents.
Bridget, weighing eight pounds and one ounce, was born in northern Virginia. Speaking to People about her new role as a mother, Hillary Vaughn said:

I’ve been preparing for motherhood my entire career by attempting to get Capitol Hill lawmakers to answer my questions, but I didn’t realize this until recently. There aren’t many differences in this job. “Baby Bridget, could you comment for us?” Are you gassy, hungry, or both? It’s difficult to try to get an answer on the record!

Hillary also disclosed that while traveling to Capitol Hill, her water broke. She referred to it as the “best assignment” she had ever had, just one week after they welcomed their daughter.

In the meantime, Peter Doocy disclosed that even White House employees participated by offering suggestions for baby names in the days preceding the birth.
