Kelly Ripa & Her Husband Showed Their Bedroom in the NY Home Where They’ll Live ‘Forever’ — Pics

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recently opened the doors to their beautifully restored New York City townhouse, sharing a glimpse into how they turned a once-basic space into a warm, elegant sanctuary filled with personal history. More than a decade ago, the couple moved into the Upper East Side residence with a vision of combining style and purpose. The property, once owned by fashion designer Luca Orlandi and model Oluchi Onweagba, quickly became a home rich in Art Deco design, layered with meaningful decor and family memories.

Originally built in 1882, the five-story, nearly 7,800-square-foot townhouse boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a sense of character that reflects the couple’s shared journey. Designed with help from interior designer William Sofield, their home draws inspiration from 1920s and ’30s French glamour, with bold decorative choices and pieces sourced from Parisian flea markets.

Sofield collaborated closely with the couple to design a space that was not just beautiful but also practical. Crystal chandeliers, reworked tapestries, and cobalt blue urns now give the home a collected, lived-in charm. Even the foyer features Deco-style armoires used to store outdoor gear, staying true to their desire for a tidy, shoe-free house.

The kitchen and dining area are central to the couple’s day-to-day life. Located near the garden, the kitchen combines sleek, translucent cabinetry with custom details like a plastered oven hood. Ripa pointed out their extensive coffee setup with a smile, underscoring how important the space is for both routine and relaxation. In the dining room, a chandelier sourced from Vienna hangs above a table that serves both formal dinners and casual takeout nights. A hidden lazy Susan adds a touch of playfulness to the otherwise refined decor.

Their living room offers a sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance, blending hand-rubbed lacquered walls with restored 18th-century Aubusson tapestries. A Louis XVI fireplace and a painting by Gloria Vanderbilt—gifted to the couple—anchor the space. Despite its refined style, Ripa insists the room is frequently used, even hosting holiday gatherings with a Christmas tree placed in the front window. She also shared a laugh about how the velvet couch makes unsuspecting guests slowly slide off, a charming reminder that beauty and comfort coexist in their home.

The primary bedroom upstairs is a peaceful retreat wrapped in cool gray tones and vintage details, including sconces saved from an old ocean liner and a gilded headboard that adds a touch of opulence. Nearly every piece in the room carries personal meaning, from flea market finds to a mirror that cleverly conceals a television. Ripa revealed this is also where she wrote her book, even wearing down the fabric of her desk chair in the process.

In contrast to the serene bedroom, the couple’s bathroom channels Hollywood glamour. Inspired by a scene from “Mommie Dearest,” Ripa had a chaise longue upholstered—twice—to capture the iconic look without sacrificing durability. Double sinks, polished marble, and custom mirrors complete the luxurious setting, making it one of her favorite places for her daily routine.

The top floor brings a different energy entirely. Consuelos’ cigar lounge, also known as “Bar 5,” bursts with bold colors, vintage-inspired furniture, and Formula One-themed décor. Though dubbed a cigar room, there’s no smoking allowed—just a stylish space for entertaining, sports viewing, and game nights. A backlit bar, midnight-blue velvet curtains, and custom lighting bring a playful, retro feel to the otherwise refined home.

Beyond its aesthetic beauty, the townhouse holds deep emotional value for the couple. Though their children no longer live there full-time, each of their bedrooms has been preserved, and their presence is felt throughout the house—especially in hallway art that features paintings of the kids’ eyes. The family’s history is etched into every corner, and Ripa and Consuelos have no plans to move. Even with other homes across the country, this one remains their emotional anchor.

Ripa once joked, “They’ll have to carry me out of here feet first,” a statement that echoes how deeply connected she feels to the home. Despite the glamour of their public appearances, the couple keeps it real behind closed doors. Even when preparing for events like the Oscars, they rely on candy, comfortable shoes, and humor to get through the night.

Recently, the couple shared a candid moment on their talk show discussing the idea of “gray divorce,” with Ripa joking about an article that briefly made her consider it, while Consuelos reassured viewers of their strong bond. He later added, “I never want to stop dreaming about what we could do… we want to be the favorite grandparents.”

With their humor, warmth, and deep appreciation for home, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have created not just a stylish townhouse, but a lasting family sanctuary—one built to be cherished for a lifetime.
