A popular video from Coldplay’s Boston performance has pushed Astronomer CEO Andy Byron into public attention. The incident created online rumors about a workplace relationship and raised questions about his previous business behavior.

The Boston Coldplay show seems to have revealed a prominent technology executive and his suspected affair partner. Their strange response to the concert’s “Kiss Cam” feature attracted audience notice.

The camera focused on the couple, causing the man to crouch down and hide. The woman turned her face away from view. People later named the man as Andy Byron, who runs the data management company Astronomer. The woman beside him was Kristin Cabot, who serves as Astronomer’s Chief People Officer.

Coldplay singer Chris Martin responded to the situation with wit. He told the audience, “Uh-oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

One online user praised the singer’s quick comment, writing “Chris Martin doing Gods work.” Another person added, “Imagine getting caught by Coldplay.”

Social media users repeated Chris Martin’s playful but pointed observation after the video spread widely. One person declared, “HES having an affair.” Another user commented, “They’re definitely hiding something, that’s for sure.”

One viewer said they knew the pair right away. They posted, “Oh my God that looks like Astronomer CEO Andy Byron AND Astronomer Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot??? Oh that’s gonna be one awkward board meeting, if not a couple of divorces too.”

After people confirmed Andy’s married status, another user asked, “I wonder where he told his wife he was going to be?”

The video spread rapidly online. Internet investigators and social media users started researching the pair. This renewed public attention on Andy’s 2023 announcement about Kristin’s executive hire.

He stated in the press release: “Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory. She is a proven leader at multiple growth-stage companies and her passion for fostering diverse, collaborative workplaces makes her a perfect fit for Astronomer.”

These comments now appear in a completely different context.

Online discussions about their suspected relationship varied from funny to disbelieving. One user posted, “This cheating scandal is the gift that keeps on giving… for the lawyers, that is! Their spouses should be thanking the tabloids right about now 😂😂😂.”

Other people quickly saw that the situation might involve both parties. A sharp-eyed observer commented, “It looks like she also has a wedding ring on here?”

Massachusetts court documents show Kristin and her former husband Kenneth Thornby requested divorce in 2018. They completed the process in 2022. Whether she married again remains unknown. Records indicate the former couple has at least one child. Thornby received orders to pay child support.

Suspicions focused on Andy’s marriage as rumors grew. His wife Megan Kerrigan Byron first deleted Byron from her Facebook name. She later shut down the entire account. Her Instagram profile disappeared as well.

Reports suggest Megan responded quickly after people flooded her social media with comments about the concert video showing her husband and the HR executive.

Internet users ultimately supported Megan in her situation.

Andy’s online accounts disappeared, but Kristin’s stay public. Her work biography states, “An influential leader and fearless change-agent, I lead by example and win trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers to assistants.”

The suspected affair brought renewed attention to Andy’s work history, especially his period at cybersecurity company Cybereason.

The Information published an investigation in April 2018 called “Fake Hire, Staff Departures Roil SoftBank-Backed Security Startup.” Former employees described Andy as aggressive and harmful in leadership roles.

The article reported, “Multiple former employees said Mr. Byron would lash out against employees who disagreed with him, including threatening to fire them.” One former worker explained, “You couldn’t challenge him.”

Andy worked as Cybereason’s chief revenue officer from 2017. He stayed there for more than two years, based on his deleted LinkedIn profile. His leadership approach supposedly caused numerous staff members to leave during this period.

He allegedly brought in faithful sales workers from his previous employer, Fuze, as a response. One former team member explained, “We started off in the right direction and were very successful, but with the pressure to grow employees and revenue, it was never enough to just say we were a fast-growing company. We had to be the fastest-growing.”

This employee called the workplace atmosphere “sad.”

Another worker who still held a position at Cybereason when the article came out observed, “People loved the company. Now they hate it.”

Andy rejected claims of harsh treatment. He said his choices had simply let down some people.

Andy and Kristin have both remained quiet about the issue so far. Andy’s wife has also decided to stay silent. Her choice to shut down her social media accounts makes this clear.
