Watching animals suffer is heartbreaking, especially when they’re abandoned and pregnant. Waffles, a pit bull mom, faced this reality three years ago. Pregnant and in desperate need, she was found wandering by a man who contacted Hope For Paws.
Volunteers JoAnn Wiltz and Katie McKittrick responded, and Waffles, cold and hungry, trusted them immediately. After an ultrasound, they discovered she was due to give birth within days. JoAnn took Waffles in, and that night, Waffles went into labor. On Mother’s Day, she gave birth to six healthy puppies, with JoAnn by her side.
