Pink refuses to let her young daughter use this common thing everyone uses – for one smart reason

“There’s a light side and a shadow side to technology in general for adults, as well. For kids, I’m not there yet. I have a 10-year-old who does not have a phone, although she pointed out to me yesterday, ‘You know most of the kids in my class have a phone.’ That doesn’t move my needle. I don’t care.”

Nonetheless, she recognizes the advantages of technology.”As parents, we can’t be dinosaurs; we have to sort of embrace and go with it,” she remarked. Pink believes in attachment parenting, which emphasizes close bonding with a kid.

Cover Me in Sunshine, a collaboration with Willow, was released in February 2021 by The Lady Marmalade vocalist. The lovely vocals of the mother-daughter duet harmonizing in the chorus are a fantastic example of her decision not to use technology as a babysitter.

The powerhouse vocalist, who appeared on the cover of People in 2018 with her two young children, stated in the interview that as a little kid, she didn’t have to form deep bonds with her parents, who both worked full-time.

Without technology to distract her, she reflects warmly on the bonds she made with her brother and with life. “My brother and I rode bikes to school and played in woods all day. Lots of rescuing animals, tree climbing, sports, gymnastics. I had a good childhood.”

She continued, “Yeah, I believe in affection. I believe in needs being met and faith being implemented, and I believe in letting your kids know they can count on you, and that you’ll be there. My parents obviously did not believe in that and I worked out okay. I always tell Willow, ‘I’m going to teach you the rules so that you’ll know how and when to break them.’”

She’s also coming up with new and inventive methods to connect with her children. Pink collaborated with the Calm App and Calm Kids in 2022, offering her soothing voice to bedtime stories to help youngsters go asleep.

Although the device on which the app is installed is unknown, Pink told People in a 2022 interview that her son Jameson enjoys her stories.

“Jameson wants to have it very night. He’s been listening to Minions nonstop for five weeks, but now he’s requesting my story so I’m feeling very proud.”

Pink isn’t the only celebrity who won’t let their children have cell phones.

Penelope Cruz, an Oscar winner, concurs. In December 2021, US Weekly stated that she had prohibited her son Leo, born in 2011, and daughter Luna, born in 2103, from using phones or social media.

Even billionaire Mark Cuban, who has a large stake in technology, is rigorous and sneaky when it comes to his children’s usage of computers.

According to Business Insider, “Cuban uses Cisco routers and management software to control his children’s phone use and see what apps they are using. He even has the ability to shut off use entirely. He also has a policy for Netflix: one hour spent reading means two hours earned to watch Netflix.”

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates discloses that his children were not allowed to have cellphones until they were 14 years old.

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, actress and singer Jennifer Lopez, Barack and Michelle Obama, and royals Kate Middleton and Prince William have all been added to the list of celebrity parents who monitor or restrict their children’s use of technology or cellphones.

It is always necessary to assess the advantages and disadvantages of each circumstance. According to research, young children who use cell phones have both advantages and disadvantages. Mental health issues, access to harmful information, and exposure to predators and cyber bullies are all disadvantages.

Cell phones, on the other hand, allow children to contact with their parents or other authoritative authorities. If you want to give your child a phone for safety reasons, experts recommend a phone with limited functionality that allows a child to call, message, and snap photos safely.

Tell us what you think of Pink’s choice to deny Willow the use of a cellphone. And how do you feel about children and mobile use?
