Upon seeing this, her husband sought to awaken her by gently pressing her with his finger. At that point, the priest also asked the community a question. The priest then asked the crowd who had liberated the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
When jolted awake from her sleep, the wife exclaimed, “GOD!” before falling back asleep. When asked again about who had given their lives for the forgiveness of their sins, she exclaimed unequivocally, “JESUS CHRIST!” The woman slumbered through the sermon, slightly irritated by her husband’s unexpected shake – an unsurprising happening.
