Pat Sajak discusses his emergency surgery and says he believed he was going to die from the pain

Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak recently shared his harrowing experience with a blocked bowel, necessitating emergency surgery. He recounted the intense pain he endured and his fears for his life during an appearance on Good Morning America.

Sajak was struck by excruciating stomach pain after a walk with his daughter. Rushed to the hospital, various medications failed to alleviate his suffering. “None of it – none of it – worked,” he recalled.

Thankfully, one painkiller finally provided relief, albeit with surreal side effects. Amidst his ordeal, Sajak worried about his family’s well-being, contemplating his mortality.

Successful surgery brought relief, though Sajak humorously admitted to being “merely high” during his recovery. Co-host Vanna White filled in during his absence, expressing the challenge of hosting without him.

Now back in the studio, Sajak is grateful for his health and eager to resume hosting alongside White, with whom he shares a longstanding partnership.
