An 11-year-old girl is now the youngest mother in UK history, giving birth earlier this month without her family knowing she was pregnant, reports *The Sun*. Both mother and baby are healthy.
Social services are investigating how the pregnancy went unnoticed. “It has come as a big shock. She’s now being surrounded by expert help.

The previous record was held by Tressa Middleton, who gave birth at 12 in 2006. In 2014, the UK’s youngest parents were a 12-year-old mother and 13-year-old father.
